Bridal gown shopping is one of the most emotional shopping trips you will ever take. Trying on a gown is unlike any other type of clothing you will wear. Because of that, it is hard to tell what you will actually look like until you put one on. One of the biggest problems that brides have, is that they see a wedding gown in a picture and immediately fall in love with it. Let’s face it if you see it in a magazine of course the model is going to make the gown look as good as possible. I would look great in some of those gowns too if I was that size and shape. 🙂
Then, when they actually go shopping they only have that one style in mind, and some refuse to even consider anything else.
One of the biggest pieces of advice I give brides shopping for a gown, is to try on different styles. Even if you don’t really like it on the hanger. Gown really look different on a person than they do on the hanger. And sometimes unfortunately the gown you think you love, doesn’t even look good on you. I have seen it happen many times. A bride tries on a gown she was not even sure she would like, until she puts it on……

I totally agree with you. A big regret of mine is that I didn’t experiment more with different styles. I also think that brides should think really carefully about who they invite to accompany them to the bridal shop. Sometimes mother doesn’t know best! Agnes xx
That is so true! I have had brides not buy a gown they love because their mother did not approve. When there is too many people you can’t please everyone!
