New Adventures

It has been a few months of transition for my wedding business.  I made the decision in October to close the bridal consignment part and just focus on the Day of Coordination and Decoration Services. It was a bittersweet time but I am excited about what is ahead!

Umbrella Chandelier: Wedding Decor

Being a Thrift Store and Yard Sale Bride is all about taking things you find and making them work for your wedding.  This project is a perfect example.  This is made by taking the top off of an umbrella, and adding lights to make a chandelier.  A couple of these would make a beautiful accent for your wedding reception space.

Not your ordinary wedding flowers

IMG_0965I love that more and more brides are adding décor elements to their weddings that reflect who they are, rather than what a  “typical” wedding looks like.  Why not use colored pinwheels for some whimsical centerpieces.  They will be unique and help keep your budget in check.

Big Impact, Small Budget

Sometimes it is just the little touches that can make a big impact.  There are some great ways to add to your décor without having to blow your budget.  This trick I learned by being obsessed with wedding shows, and repeatedly watching episodes of Whose Wedding is it Anyways.    Instead of colored table linens, use ribbons to accent your tables.

You can also add impact by dressing up your table numbers to match your theme or colors.

IMG_0753You can even use colored napkins either with an accessory, or with an unusual fold.

IMG_0752You can also use a colored glass to give a pop of color to your table.

IMG_0751Use one, two or all of these ideas on just your head table or sweetheart table.  These will make a big impact on your décor but not your budget.

Easter or Spring Wedding Centerpiece?

It has been said that I can take just about everything and relate it to weddings.  Well in this case it really may be true.  I was on Pinterest the other day and I saw this Easter arrangement, and I immediately thought wedding centerpiece for Spring.  I actually find that quite a few of the things I pin to my boards come from looking at things other than weddings.
